Nigella sativa: Nigella the edible, Melanthio the tame, Black-caraway or " black cumin".

Nigella sativa originates from the Mediterranean. It is an annual plant, upright growth, height 20-30 cm. By 50 cm.

Its leaves are slim, divided, lacy.

Flowers 5-10 petals, thin, white or light blue (the color of the sky) with many long stamens.They appear at the tips of stems, solitary.

It blooms in summer and for a long time.

Prefers average soils, slightly acidic with good drainage and full sun.
