Lychnis viscaria or Silene viscaria is a perennial herbaceous plant, upright growth reaches a height of 60 cm. Silene viscaria is commonly called " sticky catchfly".
It has narrow, dark green Leaves.

Silene viscaria blooms from May to July. It has flowers in bright pink - fuchsia color and serrated petals. The stem and the flower stems secrete a sticky substance, so called sticky catchfly

Silene viscaria prefers moderate fertility soil, moist but well drained and sunny or semi-shaded positions. But it can grow in poor and dry soils.

 

It is a beautiful ornamental plant that could be planted in borders, in clusters and in rock gardens
